Organizations – League Page Enhancements

League pages within organizations now get some of the same special treatment as team pages!  You can add your own content to a league page and now hide the standings from displaying on the league home page.  In addition, league pages now have a spiffy new header to match what team pages have.

For an organization, maintain league information by going to Teams > Leagues.

League home pages can be displayed with custom content and standings.

Or with custom content and without standings.

And check out the new league header!

Organization and Leagues – Team Enhancements

We recently completed a few enhancements for teams within a league or organization that should help improve the look of your site.

Player pictures default to the team logo if there isn’t one.

Now when players in your league or organization don’t have individual photos their profile will default to the team logo.  Same with stat and record book pages, all players without a photo will display the team logo instead.

Organization and League schedules in the admin now only show league-wide events by default

Some leagues and organizations had a lot of events on their schedule and loading all of those events on the schedule when in the admin took a long time.  We’ve made a change so that only league and organization wide events and games will display on the schedule by default.  This will allow the schedule page to load much more quickly.  To view games and events for individual teams just go to that team’s schedule.

Teams now have social media options

We’ve added social media to each team under leagues and organizations.  When adding information about a team you can specify their Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram links.  The social media icons display on the team header for the team pages.

team_social

It also displays on the league/organization listing of all teams.

Adding Notes to Events

Previously a lot of teams were using tags to add notes to events, but now you can now add short notes directly to your events that will display on the schedule.

Just enter a note when creating or updating an event.  If there is a link to a website in your note, enclose it in brackets.

The note then displays on your website under the event and the link will be clickable.

Online Registrations – Copying and Section Breaks

We recently introduced two new features for online registrations – the ability to copy a previous online registration and the option to add section breaks into your online registration.

Copying a Previous Online Registration

Go to Manage > Online Registrations after logging in and there is a new option to copy a online registration.

copy_registration_link

You can copy any online registration from any season.  Everything pertaining to the online registration will be copied with the exception of registrants.

copy_registration

We have had a lot of requests to allow copying of online registrations, hopefully it is useful to everyone!

Section Breaks

On the online registration form you can add section breaks to group sets of question and information.

Once the section break has been added it will display on the online registration form.

Standings now have Games Back and Runs Allowed

After more than a few requests for this one, I’m happy to let everyone know that Games Back and Runs Allowed are now listed in the standings for all leagues and organizations.

New Team Page Header

All team pages for leagues and organizations now sport a nifty new header!

If a team has a logo, win/loss record, or external website they are displayed in the header.

team_header_full

For teams without any of those, the header will display with a slightly different look.

Also, as a bonus, team rosters and schedule pages now allow you to view seasons!

New Slideshow on Photo Page

All team, league, and organization websites are now optimized for mobile, but unfortunately the old photo slideshow was not.  Because of that, we have a new slideshow that works well on desktop, tablets, and phones.

The new photo page looks a little different in that all of the images from the album are shown in a grid.

Clicking on a photo will enlarge it, show its caption (if it has one) and allow you to swipe from one photo to the next.

Hopefully everyone likes the new slide show.  If you have questions, suggestions, or comments about Atomic Leagues, we would love to hear them! Please post a comment below or let us know through the support form.

Standings, Schedule, Players, Win/Loss, Teams, and Staff Pages now mobile!

Back in July we were excited to announce that all team, league, and organization websites now displayed better in mobile: http://www.atomicleagues.net/team-league-and-organization-websites-go-mobile/

We also said that more of each site would be converted to mobile-friendly in the coming weeks and I have the next batch of pages ready:

  • Standings
  • Schedule
  • Players
  • Win/Loss
  • Teams
  • Staff

We will continue to convert additional sections of each website over the next few weeks.  Those pages not configured for mobile will still display correctly, just not in a mobile-friendly view.

Please let us know if you notice any issues with mobile-friendly pages or have any other suggestions by posting a comment below or let us know through the support form.  Thanks!

Team, League, and Organization websites go mobile!

We’ve been working on converting all team, league, and organization websites to mobile-friendly versions and today parts of each website now display optimized for a mobile phone!

mobile_homepage

Those pages configured for mobile as of this morning are:

  • Home page
  • News
  • Contact Us
  • Custom Pages
  • Online Registration

We will continue to convert additional sections of each website over the next few weeks.  Those pages not configured for mobile will still display correctly, just not in a mobile-friendly view.

Please let us know if you notice any issues with mobile-friendly pages or have any other suggestions by posting a comment below or let us know through the support form.  Thanks!

Upcoming Events Widget

An Upcoming Events widget is now available to place on the home page or any page on your website. It lists the next five events on your schedule.

To add an Upcoming Events widget to your website, just to Website Appearance > Widgets and add a new widget.  Select Upcoming Events from the drop-down of widgets available.

That’s it, the widget will be displayed on your website and list the next five events on your schedule.
